Plantar warts

Plantar warts are common warts that affect the bottom of the feet. Most people will have one at some point in their lives. Plantar warts, officially named verrucae warts, are caused by human papillomavirus (HPV). The virus attacks the skin on the bottom of the feet.

HPV thrives in warm, moist places, such as locker room floors and around swimming pools. Those little puddles on the surface of pool tiles are a breeding ground for HPV. The virus is transmitted by direct contact and may be picked up more easily if you have an opening or crack in your skin.

Verrugas Plantares

Pediatric flat feet

Flat feet occur because the tissues that support the joints in the foot weaken.

As the children grow, the tissues tense up and form the plantar arch, more or less at two or three years of age. Aging, overuse, injury or disease can cause tendon damage and cause a flat foot to develop.

Problemas del talón

Do you suffer from ankle pain?

It is often due to a sprain, but it can also be caused by ankle instability, arthritis, gout, tendinitis, fracture, compression of a nerve, infection, tumor and structural malalignment of the leg or foot.

The initial treatment may consist of resting, putting on ice, raising and immobilizing the leg, including anti-inflammatory drugs or physiotherapy and, in severe cases, surgical procedures.
